collection. of information. Many people are superstitious about bats. They think
they are evil but in reality they are not so. They help in pollination and seed
dispersal. They eat insects and pests and save crops. By saving crops, they are
economically important. There are many species of bats. Some are extinct and
some are endangered. The vampire bats are very rare. The reasons for the
decline in the population of bats are deforestation and persecution by people.
They are electrocuted by electrical wires. They are destroyed by wine turbines.
They are caught in barbed wires. They are endangered by light pollution, heat
waves and hunting. Many people have many negative opinions about bats. By
educating the ignorant people on the role played by bats towards environment,
bats can be saved. It is only by education, bats can be saved from extinction.
Bats are incredibly useful.
