If a voltage source has a resistance connected in series, it can be transformed into an equivalent current source with a resistance connected in parallel. It is shown in figure 1.17.

SOURCE TRANSFORMATION

Voltage Source to Current Source

If a voltage source has a resistance connected in series, it can be transformed into an equivalent current source with a resistance connected in parallel. It is shown in figure 1.17.

Current Source to Voltage Source

If a current source has a resistance connected in parallel, it can be transformed into an equivalent voltage source with a resistance connected in series. It is shown in figure 1.18.
