Electron Devices and Circuits: Unit II: (c) MOSFET : Two Marks Questions with Answers
Two Marks Questions with Answers
Q.1
Mention the operating modes of MOSFET.
AU
: Dec.-10
Ans.
1.
Depletion mode 2. Enhancement mode.
Q.2
Give any two differences between E-MOSFET and D-MOSFET. AU
: Dec.-11
(Refer
section 4.6.2)
Q.3
Which MOSFET is called as normally ON MOSFET and Normally OFF MOSFET ? Why ?
AU
: May-11
Ans.
:
In depletion type MOSFET, maximum current IDSS flows through the
channel when VGS = 0/ i-e- MOSFET is ON. Thus depletion type MOSFET
is called Normally ON MOSFET.
For
enhancement type MOSFET, the channel does not exists when VGS = 0.
Due to this ID is almost zero and we can say that MOSFET is OFF.
Thus enhancement type MOSFET is also called Normally OFF MOSFET.
Q.4
What is a MOSFET ? Name it's types.
