1. A 3-phase, 440 V supply feeds an unbalanced, delta connected load in which ZRY-20/30°, ZYB = 2020° Q, ZBR = 20-30° Q. Phase sequence is RYB. Determine the readings of two wattmeters which are placed in R and Y lines for measurement of 3 phase power.

The phase currents can be expressed in the polar form as below.


Now, the line currents IR, IY and IB are calculated by applying KCL as shown below.


Answers:

IR = 39.2 -48.4° A

IY = 15.17 -127.7° A

IB = 44.6 112° A
