• In this chapter, we are going to study the analysis and design of synchronous sequential circuits and design of synchronous counters.

We have already introduced to synchronous sequential circuits. These circuits
are further classified depending on the timing of their signals: Synchronous
sequential circuits and Asynchronous sequential circuits. In synchronous
sequential circuits, signals can affect the memory elements only at discrete
instants of time. In asynchronous sequential circuits change in input signals
can affect memory element at any instant of time.

In this chapter, we are going to study the analysis and design of synchronous
sequential circuits and design of synchronous counters.
