Major components of an automobile

The major components used in an automobile are the following

MAJOR COMPONENTS OF AN AUTOMOBILE

The major components used in an automobile are the following:

1. Engine or power plant. It is the source of power.

2. Chassis: It consists of a skeletal frame which supports the engine, wheels, body, braking system, steering etc.


3. Power train: The powertrain of a vehicle provides the means of generating power and the means of transmitting that power to the wheels.

4. Transmission system: It transmits power from the engine to the wheels. It consists of clutch, shaft, axles and differential.

5. Car body: It is fitted on the chassis. 6. Car body accessories: They include lights, heater, radio, windshield, wipers.
