Making Presentation with Visual Aids

Visual aids are important in presentations with visual aids. They keep the audience engaged and hooked to the topic. It is difficult to listen for a long time and visual aids retain the attention of the audience. A picture speaks a thousand words and picture is a visual aid. Poor visual aid spoils our presentation.

10. MAKING PRESENTATION WITH VISUAL AIDS

Visual aids are important in presentations with visual aids. They keep the audience engaged and hooked to the topic. It is difficult to listen for a long time and visual aids retain the attention of the audience. A picture speaks a thousand words and picture is a visual aid. Poor visual aid spoils our presentation.

Visual aids are visual support. Eg. Picture, video, charts, hand outs, objects, white board, black board... Visual aids strengthen a presentation. It has great impact on the audience. It is helpful in explaining a topic well. There are software available for making presentation effective. Eg. powerpoint.

White boards and marker pens are good for developing an explanation and diagram. Standing in the corner of the board, writing and making presentation is better than turning back to audience. Handwriting should be legible. Avoid permanent marker because it cannot be rubbed.

Interactive white boards can be used for presentations. They are the combination of LCD projector and a white board. It is important to practice interactive white boards. The video at the end of this chapter is an example for this.

Flip Chart is a large pad of paper bound so that each page can be turned over at the top to reveal the next, used on a stand at presentations.

Flip chart is economical and low tech solution for presentation olle or do with visual aid.

Video well explain a topic and it can be added in presentations. Videos can be prepared or they can be downloaded from You Tube.

Hand out summarizing the main points is a value addition to a presentation.

The above visual aids enhance a presentation. They add visual effect apart from the auditory effect. They keep the audience interested.
