Spotting errors is an important exercise in learning a language. Any age group can learn easily. If one comes to know that this is an error, he or she can easily avoid it. Error spotting should be learnt separately and regularly. It is a frequently asked question in verbal reasoning in any competitive examination for jobs or for higher studies. The error can be in any form.
Spelling
Error
In
this electronic age, spell check is done by default or by dictionary mode, the
students do not take pains to learn spelling. If one focuses on spelling for a
few seconds, one will remember it lifelong.
Grammatical
Error
Grammatical
error may arise due to lack of subject verb agreement and wrong use of active
and passive voice. Spending a few minutes, the rules should be remembered while
writing or speaking and afterwards, they will be incorporated automatically
while one speaks or writes. Tense should be learnt properly to avoid
grammatical errors. By learning the rules of grammar, grammatical errors can be
avoided.

Errors
Some
words are confusing words such as adapt-adopt, illicit-elicit, lie-lay,
lied-laid, appraise-apprise, affect-effect, allusion-illusion etc. If wrongly
used, it gives a different meaning. Words should be used correctly.
While
learning words, the nuances should also be learnt. Words should be read
thoroughly. The following steps should be followed while learning a word
thoroughly to avoid mistakes.
