Active
and Passive voice express the same idea but in two different ways. We normally
use active voice because it is simple and direct. Passive voice says the
information indirectly. Technical English uses passive voice more because the
doer of the action is not as important as the action. Passive voice confuses a
little. If the learner is clear, there is no confusion.
Passive voice is used in the following scenarios:
When
action is important
Eg.
The tea is poured on the floor. Let it be forgotten.
When
the doer of the action is unknown:
Eg.
The
vehicle seat was damaged.stal
When
the doer of the action is unimportant:
Eg.
The experiment is completed.
