LINOLEUM
It
is a plastic material obtained by oxidizing linseed oil into a rubber-like
material. It is mixed with ground cork, wood flour and pigments and pressed on
to canvas or jute. It is formed into rolls or tiles. Linoleum may be a plain
sheet or have attractive colour prints. It is used as floor covering for wood
or concrete surfaces. Linoleum floors are durable, comfortable, cheap and easy
to install and maintain. However, they are not used in basements, kitchens and
bathrooms. It they remain wet for a long duration, it will result in rotting of
the material.
