LINOLEUM

It is a plastic material obtained by oxidizing linseed oil into a rubber-like material. It is mixed with ground cork, wood flour and pigments and pressed on to canvas or jute. It is formed into rolls or tiles. Linoleum may be a plain sheet or have attractive colour prints. It is used as floor covering for wood or concrete surfaces. Linoleum floors are durable, comfortable, cheap and easy to install and maintain. However, they are not used in basements, kitchens and bathrooms. It they remain wet for a long duration, it will result in rotting of the material.
