Synthetic rubber has great resistance to petroleum products and acids.

It is resistant to abrasion.

It absorbs shocks and impacts.
•
It is a bad conductor of heat.
Uses of Rubber in Construction
•
To produce polymer concrete.
•
To produce polymer mortar to improve its bonding and waterproofing qualities.
•
To improve adhesive property, rubber is added in glues like Fevicol.
•
To make PVC pipes.
•
To make floorings that is stain resistant and durable.
•
To make bearings for bridges with synthetic rubber.
