The process of finding the value of x for the corresponding value of y is called inverse interpolation.

Lagrange's Inverse interpolation

The process of finding the value of x for the corresponding value of y is called inverse interpolation.

In such a case, we will take y as independent variable and x as dependent variable and use Lagrange's interpolation formula.

Taking y as independent variable.


Formula (1) is called the formula of inverse interpolation.
